Scheme of Computerization of the Records of the State Waqf Boards:
On the recommendation of the Joint Parliamentary Committee on Waqf, a Central Sector Scheme of "Computerization of the Records of State/UT Waqf Boards" was launched by the Ministry of Minority Affairs ,Govt. of India in December 2009 i.e., during 11th Plan Period. The Scheme is continuing during the 12th Plan Period. Under the Scheme, the Ministry of Minority Affairs released funds to the State/UT Waqf Boards for setting up of the Centralized Computing Facility (CCF). The Ministry of Minority Affairs, Government of India involved Central Waqf Council as Nodal Agency to complete the remaining work by engaging an outsourcing agency. Accordingly, a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed between MoMA and CWC in December’2013.Thereafter, the Ministry of Minority Affairs has so far released a total sum of Rs.8.80 crores to CWC in three instalments. The Council has engaged the National Small Industries Corporation Ltd (NSIC).Raipur Branch (A Govt. of India Enterprise) to complete the remaining work of the Scheme. The agency has already taken up the assignment in a number of boards and the progress report are available on the WAMSI website. It is expected that the balance work under various modules of the scheme would be completed within the 12th Five Year Plan Period i.e. upto 31st March,2017.
